"Essex electro-pop band Angry vs the Bear are putting out their latest single today, London Town, a free download that will be available throughout the duration of the London Olympics.

With the world's focus on London in the coming days and weeks, the song is a celebration of our capital city in all its diversity with singer Mitzi Fox's soaring vocals singing its praises over an epic synth soundtrack.

Radio 1 have already described London Town as "a synth-tastic slice of retro pop, sounding rather like The Gossip might if all guitars were suddenly outlawed."

London Town can be downloaded free here while you can see the fantastic video for the song here.

The band are currently putting the finishing touches to songs for their much anticipated debut album which they've been recording with Grammy award-winning producer Simon Gogerly who's also worked with U2, Gwen Stefani, Paloma Faith and Essex dance masters Underworld.

Follow-up single Heart Full Of Sharp Stone, dark, twisted electro-ballad, is due out later in the year.

Previously Angry vs the Bear have released two DIY singles, Show Emotion and Kill Me With Words And Pictures and have supported the likes of Florence and the Machine, The Futureheads and Dirty Pretty Things."

The Tins NEW Release

The Tins have finished working with producer Joe Blaney on their first their full length album titled, "Life's a Gas," set to be released July 2012.  However, it has already received rave reviews:

“Vicki” is wonderfully infectious! Granted, I find the lyrics the smallest touch insipid, but the music is great and engaging. Transitions and melding of styles and sounds are done so well, you don’t even consciously notice the changes, they just are. The whole track just feels so organic and easy! It’s a great track and I can’t wait to hear what they do on their full length release, due out mid-May, with a tour to follow.” – In Your Speakers

“It’s perfect tunes to give you that longing feeling as you look out your window onto a bright sunny day.” – Austin Town hall

“Vicki is the first taste I’ve gotten my ears on from The Tins and their upcoming Kickstarter funded debut album. It begins with some guitar loving, quickly showing The Tins awesome ability to wed guitar and keys without going into full out bubblegum mode like a lot of bands that utilize both instruments. The guitars have that nice crunchy edge and keep chugging and the song is absolutely catchy with from-the-hip style vocals ready made for your rear view mirror belting.” – Sirens of Decay

The Tins have also released their first professional music video for their newest single, "Vicki."

One of my all time favorite bands on the planet, the guys serious dominate my ipod. Loud and shouty, sultry and rowdy, these guys and gal are some of London's finest. Crazy electro pop with amazing vocals. I worked with them for SXSW 2010 and 2009, and I love listening to these songs because they help me relive that amazing experience. SO. GOOD.

The highlight for me was the occasional piano excursion by Malcom Bruce, who throws in Monk-like cadences and contemporary chord runs, happily playing across time with sparky confidence and then hitting the chord changes with the ensemble. Pretty damn neat and dad Jack would be proud……
